“Happy Birthday Blade Icewood…R.I.P”

Today marks the Birthday Of beloved Detroit Artist Darnel Lindsey, aka Blade Icewood. Blade Icewood was unfortunately gunned down in the City of Detroit far to soon, and at a point where his music career was about to take off and gain commercial success. The tragic part surrounding the death of this artist was that 2 years before his life was taken he was the victim of a home invasion where intruders shot him 7 times with an AK-47 assault rifle resulting in his paralysis from the waist down. Blade did not let that stop as he persevered and pushed forward his career up until his untimely death. Blade’s music will forever live on as a staple in Detroit music and he will be missed.

  1. This is such a sad commentary. Unfortunately it’s a story that rings true for far too many of our young men within the city of Detroit.

    • It’s truly sad and disheartening because so many of our young men in the city are slain before they ever realize their potential or even get a chance to Try. We have to do better in Detroit.
