I came across an interview that Former BET executive Paul Porter where he discusses today’s mainstream commercial hardcore rap music has detrimentally effected the minds & behaviors of today’s youth. During this two part interview Porter gives in depth insight from a perspective of someone who has worked on the highest level of broadcasting & seen the transition of what is perpetuated in music, movies, television, & other entertainment outlets & how they are truly influencing the minds of our youth today. Paul also discusses the HIGHLY controversial Rick Ross rape infused lyric from his feature on Rocko’s U.O.E.N.O. Below are the links to parts 1 and 2 of the interview and I highly recommend that everyone take a listen to Paul’s amazing insight.

New @313Phresh Release: “The Album with No Name EP”

“The Album with No Name EP” is the latest release from Detroit artist 313Phresh and this is definitely one of his best and most complete releases to date. This EP show’s 313 Phresh’s evolution as an artist and producer with heavy and hard hitting lyrics and song topics, along with melodious samples and 808 bass heavy lyrics. The album is riddled with songs that display the essence of pure Barz and any true hip hop or music fan can catch the rhythmic vibes and appreciate the clever wordplay.  The album features a variety of songs that will appeal to any listener and is sure to catch the ear please the senses. With this album Phresh wanted his growth as an artist to be displayed so there are not to many features on this Album outside of two collaborative efforts “Black America” and “The Hit” featuring yours truly(TrueSpeech). “Black America”  is a song where Phresh and I give real and in depth look at how it truly is growing up as young black men in America and the struggles of trying to find a better life and  progress.”The hit” is a melodic and bass heavy anthem where Phresh and I trade vicious BARZ and make a  call out to MC’s to step their verbal game up. Overall “The Album with No Name EP”  is a must have for all music lovers and Hip Hop fans and it one album that no one can do without.  The link to download the Album is below and be sure to checkout www.familygrind.com for all the latest news, updates, performance schedules, music info regarding 313Phresh, TrueSpeech, and the entire FGE team.
